For my contexts of school/educational psychology I had the opportunity to create and present my own LESSON PLAN for the 8th grade social studies class I had been observing in at Fisher Middle School.
Erica, I really like your blog and the way you put it together. I feel like it showcases you well. The pictures are great and I like you biography. It is quick and to the point. Note: remember to publish your Lesson Plan, Academic Resume, and Educational Philosophy. I was impressed with all your achievements. However when you spoke in class, you read from the screen a lot. You don’t need to do that, it is you are talking about, you know who you are. My advice to you is to be confident when speaking. You have a good voice except for the fact that you mumble, which is something you can work on. Good luck with the rest of your season.
Eric W, First of all, your resume is so impressive. You have a ridiculous amount of experience with baseball! Not only have you played on many teams, but you have awards and even coaching experience. That's really great. Your blog is also good. I like all the baseball pictures. It is also great that you added all of your lesson plans and resumes. That helps a lot. It's very easy access. If I had to give a suggestion, I would say that you just need a little more confidence when you're presenting. You have so much to show off on your blog and resume. Your presentation was very effective, though. Good job!
-Eric Woodrow- I love how your blog is diverse to show both you baseball career and your academic career. You have a lot of good information on both and I think it is helpful to have a background in each field. This way if you are going for a job for either position they can also see your passion and experience it the other. Both resumes are impressive as is, but I’m sure once you’re done with college you will have so much to add to both. The baseball slideshow was a nice visual to help see you in action, not just read about you success. The only suggest I have would be try to sound more enthusiastic – we all know how much you love baseball, but to someone that’s never met you it might seem like just another hobby. Also try to work on your annunciation, you don’t want to be calling plays as a coach and the players not understand what you said. All together though, I think you did an amazing job and best of luck in your career, whether it is baseball or teaching.
